MATAMORAS, PENNSYLVANIA 

The Mid-Delaware Bridge, sometimes known as the Port Jervis–Matamoras Bridge or the Fourth Barrett Bridge, is a continuous truss bridge which carries U.S. Routes 6 and 209 across that river between those two communities and thus the states of New York and Pennsylvania. Matamoras is a small borough located in Pike County, Pennsylvania, United States. A 10 minute drive away from Montague and is perfect for your vacation getaway. 

It is a popular spot for outdoors activities such as fishing, boating, and hiking. The Delaware River offers opportunities for fishing, kayaking and canoeing, while the surrounding area is home to several state parks and natural areas, such as the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and the Promised Land State Park.

The town also has a few historic sites, such as the Matamoras Bridge, which is a steel truss bridge that spans the Delaware River and connects Matamoras to Port Jervis, NY. It was built in 1904 and still in use today.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

MILFORD BEACH

Milford Beach is a grassy beach with picnic spaces, a pavilion, facilities, a boat launch, a canoe launch, and access to the Joseph M. McDade Recreational Trail and is only a 13-minute drive from our Montague, NJ vacation homes via River Rd.
The park has three lifeguarded beaches where visitors can swim safely in the Delaware River. Weekend lifeguards are on duty from mid-June to August. The beaches also have picnic and restroom facilities. Personal grills are permitted; no grills are provided. Pets and alcohols are not permitted.

POCONOS RESORT

The Poconos is a region in northeastern Pennsylvania, United States, known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. There are many resorts located in the Poconos, offering a range of amenities and accommodations for visitors. ASA PACKER MUSEUM

The Asa Packer Mansion, now known as the Asa Packer Museum, is a historic house museum in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. It was built in the 1860s by Asa Packer, a wealthy industrialist and philanthropist who played a significant role in the development of the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania. The mansion was designed in the Italianate style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is open to the public for tours and is operated by Lehigh University. The museum contains a collection of artifacts and exhibits related to the history of the Lehigh Valley and Asa Packer's life and legacy.

SCHOHOLA FALLS

Schohola Falls is a waterfall located in the town of Milford, New York. It is located on the Schoharie Creek, which is a tributary of the Delaware River. The falls are approximately 75 feet in wide, 50 feet in tall and are a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Our Montague, NJ vacation homes is approximately 16 minutes away from this waterfall location! If you enjoy the outdoors, Raymondskill Falls may provide you with beautiful scenery that is worth your time. We advise you to visit Raymondskill Falls.

Raymondskill Falls is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Pennsylvania. It's a picturesque waterfall that's about 98 feet tall and is considered one of the tallest free-falling waterfalls in the state. The falls are located along Raymondskill Creek and can be accessed via a moderate 0.5-mile hike from a trailhead on Raymondskill Road. The hike features scenic views of the creek and the falls, and is a popular spot for hiking, photography, and picnicking. The trailhead is located in the northeastern part of the state, and the surrounding area also offers many opportunities for outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and swimming.
